Miquela Redwood is a Jamaican-born, Atlanta-based wedding and event planner, with a passion for food, entertainment and designing memorable events. A leader in the hospitality industry, Miquela founded An Intimate Affair -- a catering and event planning company specializing in small and medium-sized events. She has organized everything from weddings and anniversaries to conferences and dinner parties for both individuals and companies. Miquela was recently selected as Event Planner for “Point of View Villa & Spa” in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
With a BBA in Accounting from Georgia State University and advanced training in the culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University, Miquela managed to merge two of her passions. While at Johnson & Wales, she discovered the art of preparing sauces, French cooking techniques, baking, knife-cutting skills, and table service… and fell in love with all of it. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002, then honed her skills at one of Atlanta’s premier resort hotel restaurants. It was her love for cooking and entertaining as well as her training in business and the culinary arts that inspired her to start her own event designing company and to become a certified Wedding and Event Planner.
Miquela is also an enthusiastic traveler who gets her creative inspiration from the different foods, peoples and cultures she encounters on her travels. She adores Thai food and plans to visit Thailand soon.
When Miquela is not traveling or planning the next big event, she’s spending time with her family and friends... or running marathons.
